My Advice to the PA

Not that anyone is asking me, but it seems to me that I could make a few suggestions to the Palestinian Authority, who fervently - and usually violently - want a Palestinian state.

(Disclaimer: these suggestions assume that this is what they want.  If the goal is the destruction of the Jewish state, then very little of this applies.)

1.   Stop teaching hate to your kids.  It accomplishes nothing for you, and it has not improved anything for you.  If hate is all they’re taught, then hate is all they’ll know.  It will boomerang on you.

2.   You can’t build anything lasting on a foundation of lies. Stop denying the historical connection between the land and the Jewish people.  Everyone knows it’s nonsense, even you. Show an intelligent awareness of history.

3.   Stop blaming everyone else for your problems.

4.   Stop thinking in terms of “tribe” and “village”.  Don’t hate each other because you are in a different clan.  Think Nation. And while you're at it, stop persecuting Arab Christians and driving them out of the PA.

5.   Stop whining.
6.   Stop letting yourselves be treated like refugees.  Get off the humiliating dole from UNRWA.

7.   Stop building an Apartheid state.  Every place in history that has banned Jews, has eventually regretted it.

8.   Spend all that EU money on building an independent national infrastructure.  Wean yourselves off of complete dependence upon Israel for water, electricity, communications, fuel, transportation, medical care, etc.  That’s what independent nations do.  Act like one.

9.   Stop spending all that EU money on weapons, palaces, graft, propaganda, and salaries for prisoners and the families of “martyrs”.  Stop lining your own pockets. Invest it in your people’s future.

10. Do for others.  Develop the ability to empathize with the misfortune of other peoples, and to be there to lend a hand, however small.  There are lots of places worse off than you.  Build your own self-esteem in the process.

The bottom line is, if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.  Which is nowhere.

All of these suggestions seem to me to be obvious on the face of it.

Or is it just me?
